It is essential for the quality and reliability of Data Centers.

Technical standards in data centers ensure security, efficiency, compliance, and alignment with international quality standards.

Technical Standard

ABDC played an active and strategic role in the creation of the Brazilian standard NBR ISO/IEC 22237, published by ABNT – Brazilian Association of Technical Standards. This standard is the national version of the international ISO/IEC 22237 standard, globally recognized as a benchmark for the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of high availability and performance data centers.

ABDC’s involvement came through the mobilization of specialists, operators, and companies in the sector that integrated the ABNT/CEE-266 Study Committee, dedicated to digital infrastructure standardization. This committee was responsible for adapting the international standard to the Brazilian reality, considering the country’s regulatory, environmental, and technical specifics.

The publication of NBR ISO/IEC 22237 marks a milestone for the sector, promoting standardization, security, energy efficiency, and international competitiveness. By establishing clear criteria for design, installation, and operation, the standard serves as a technical and regulatory guide for professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors in the digital ecosystem.

This initiative strengthens ABDC’s role as a key player in building a solid regulatory foundation aligned with global best practices. Additionally, it contributes to attracting investments and enhancing the institutional maturity of the data center sector in Brazil.

The standard is available for consultation and purchase on the official ABNT website: https://www.abntcatalogo.com.br/grd.aspx
